On Wednesday, July 15, the monthly DCM was held at Sierra Bicentennial Park in Clovis. The DCM began at 5 pm with the pledge of allegiance and the Key Club pledge. Roll call shortly commenced after, and any special guests were introduced. Imran, the LTG of our division, discussed “old business,” which consisted of details of ICON, and the winner of the LTG Challenge and the new challenge of the month. The winner of the LTG challenge was our club’s president, Anthony Lee. For “new business,” the new Division Leadership Team introduced themselves and discussed their positions. After giving out the Division Recognition Awards of the month, our guest speaker, Kiwanis Division 5 Lt. Governor Mr. Tom Lean informed Key Clubbers about Project Eliminate, which helps combat neonatal tetanus. Mr. Lean also shared his experience at ICON and how impactful it was, considering it was the 100th anniversary of Kiwanis. Afterwards, we began to make mats for Project Eliminate. Kim Vo, secretary of the Clovis High Key Club, said, “It was very fun and surprisingly simple to make a mat that’s going to benefit somebody’s life in Uganda.” We ended the DCM with cake and a group picture at the luau-themed photo area.
